A big thank you to Boxers NYC for hosting our kickoff party for the 28th season, and a huge thank you to all of our members who came and made it a fun time for all.

The event raised a total of $376 for our charities!

The 8-ball tournament raised $80 for the league. Congratulations to Oscar from Eagle for winning the tournament and to Bobby from Boxers Briefs who finished second.

The 50-50 raffle raised $126 for the league. The other $126 went to the winner of the raffle Greg, who was visiting from Boston. A HUGE thank you to Greg, who immediately gave back all of his winnings as a donation to the league.

A second raffle for 5 drink tickets, provided by Boxers, raised another $44.

Thanks once more to all who made this event both fun and successful.

Hi all. We begin our 28th season on Monday, October 17th. The complete season schedule is now posted on the website under the Pool pull-down menu under "Schedule/Scores". It is also available as a PDF from the Downloads section. We have 8 teams with a 14-week schedule with everyone playing each other team twice.

Congratulations to BOTH STONEWALL TEAMS (the Riots and the Stars) for winning $100 each in the semi-finals.

What happens next?

Boxers and Amsterdam Poolboyz get to battle for the big $$$. It's a race to 5 matches of race to 2 sets, over a race to 2 nights. sounds complicated? it's not. show up and cheer for your hottest players in lovely air-conditioned environments.

Monday night @ Boxers NYC & Tuesday night @ Amsterdam. if its tied at that point, the final night will be Wednesday @ Boxers NYC to see which team walks away with $200 and which team will win the $400 grand prize!

First round of playoffs is over, and Stonewall Stars and Amsterdam PoolBoyz have advanced to the semi-finals to face the 1st & 2nd seed teams who got byes in the first round.

On a personal note, this past week saw some AMAZING examples of good sportsmanship at both matches that did my heart good and raised my personal "gay pride" in the league.

The Season-Ending Party and Raffle are being planned now, expect them to take place around the 3rd week of April. Stay tuned!

AND SELL RAFFLE TICKETS! Raffle ticket sales are THE biggest fund raiser for our charities, and this year we need the raffle income more than ever! We still have 3 weeks to sell!!

SOME OF THE PRIZES WE HAVE INCLUDE: a SIX-MONTH gym membership to NYHRC, restaurant gift certificates, massage gift certificates, salon/spa certificates, museum tickets, DVDs, bottles of liquor … and they are still coming in!

On February 12th, we held our first ever COMBINED MVP & CAPTAINS BOARD Tournament Event at Society Billiards in the Cork Room. It was an excellent, fun and well attended event, and thank you everyone who came out!

David Z (league secretary) won the Captains' Board Tournament, and Willie Ortega is our MVP Tournament winner! Congratulations to both!

At the end of the event, we had a final challenge between both of these winners, and David Z is the ultimate Queen of the Table!

Congratulations to our 2010-11 Regular Season Champions - Eagle NYC! And also to runner up Boxers! Let's get ready for PLAYOFFS!

The 7/8/9/10th place teams have play in matches to see who gets the 7th & 8th seed slots in the playoffs:

There are no matches the week of February 14, Valentine's Week.

Beginning January 21, the 8 teams in the playoffs will begin 3 weeks of Round Robin play, one match per week (YOU MUST PLAY ALL 15 GAMES, they will be needed for tie-breakers)

And finally, on March 7th, four teams (the top 2 from each bracket) will advance to the semi-finals.
